Why us

There are construction coaches, and there are CIS accountants. We're the only firm that does the numbers and the decisions, in the same room, for the same fee.

What you're choosing between

A £3m contractor who wants both advice and accounts currently buys a coach and an accountant separately, and neither one talks to the other.

The reservations, and straight answers

These are the things people say on the first call. We'd rather answer them here.

"My accountant's fine. They've never done anything wrong."

Probably true. The question isn't whether they've made a mistake, it's whether they've ever told you which of your jobs lost money, how much CIS is sitting with HMRC, or what your bank balance will be in eight weeks. If the answer's no, they're doing compliance, and you're paying for advice you're not getting. Compliance is the floor. We do it too. It's not the product.

"Switching accountants mid-contract will be a nightmare."

It's the thing most people worry about and the thing that turns out to be easiest. We write to your old firm for clearance and records. Payroll and CIS are taken over before the next run. Nothing is late while it moves, because that's what an implementation accountant is for. Here's the week-by-week.

"I don't have time for coaching."

Then don't do coaching. Take the retainer: the pack lands, we talk for an hour, you decide. Forever Fixed is two hours a month and a day a quarter, and it's for people who want the accountability. Nobody's upsold into a room.

"It's expensive."

Against what? A coach and an accountant separately cost more and don't talk to each other. And the first fix on most new clients finds more in unreclaimed CIS, untracked retentions and unclaimed allowances than the first year's fees. We'll show you that number on the first call, from your own accounts, before you pay anything.

"I've had a coach before and it didn't stick."

Most coaching doesn't, because it's built on numbers the coach didn't prepare and can't check. When the advice is "put your prices up" and nobody can tell you by how much or for which customer, it's motivation, not a decision. Ours starts from your job margins. It sticks because it's specific.

"I'm not sharing my numbers with a room of people."

Fair. That's why the room is optional, capped, construction-only, no direct competitors, and everyone signs the same NDA. The people who join tend to say the comparison was the most valuable part. The people who don't take the retainer and get everything else.

"You're too small / too new / not local."

We're construction-only, which most local firms aren't. Everything is cloud-based and the review is a call, so where the office is matters less than whether the person on the phone knows what a retention is. If you want to meet, the quarterly days are in person and Chris will drive to a site.

"What if the numbers show it's worse than I thought?"

Then you'll know, and you'll know first. That's better than finding out from the bank. Every business we've taken on that looked bad on first fix looked a lot better by day 90, because the problems were mostly fixable and mostly cash that was already yours.

"I'm under £1m."

Then we're probably not the right fit yet, and we'll say so. We'll point you to someone good and tell you what to build so you're ready when you cross it. The free tools and the book are yours either way.

What you're actually paying for

Not accounts. Not coaching. Three things.

  • Knowing. Margin by job, retentions, cash and tax, every month, on one page, before it's too late to do anything about them.
  • Deciding. An hour a month with someone who understands the page and the trade, and, if you want it, a room of owners who'll ask whether you did what you said.
  • Not worrying. CIS by the 19th. VAT a week early. Tax set aside. If anything's late, you hear it from us before you notice.

See it on your own numbers

Bring your last accounts to a 30-minute call. We'll show you what's in them that you haven't been told, and what the first 90 days would find. No fee, no pitch, and if we're not the right fit we'll say who is.
